Hana Horack-Elyafi

All humanity is connected–believe it or not. This painting was created on the day of the chemical massacre in Syria, although I had not yet heard of it. I don’t think it is a coincidence that the five pieces  I created on that day, am still working on some, have a solemn overtone.

Materials: burned shredded documents, earth, gloss, furniture wax, paper remnants, artist’s own stencil, re-used canvas that had been left in a shed for 15 years.
